no. 12 (Going to have to follow the script)

Been a busy couple of days so much to think about that Saturday night my neocon acts. But then suddenly a visitor who has embarked yesterday was that the film just made reality live, it is all so in in many ways about the insertion into an existing system. So I don't know if it's more about the language is a collection of text or actually even more so about entering into that platform which is the on-screen.com. And that's really where there were the work takes place, a finding existing system and platform and inserting inserting itself into in order to create a piece of work which is about that same platform.

Which isn't maybe now that the comparison I was so fast about doing it that way, and not just than recruiting actresses to do it which could've done. The difference was in bats in using that that's only channel of communication or connection between producers and participants, except of course the participants in this case also produces, since they're the ones who feel themselves and learn scripts chosen the location style of delivery, clothing, appearance and also had to go had to do the actual work of creating a video and uploading it all e-mail in Italy.

So bit of tension between the high author script which I've written and the fact that everything that is completely left up to their. So I have had no control over any of those elements which normally are direct as controllable and great info. Going to have to follow the script.
Then there is a lot of something I think about by this idea of the entering into system, and which is what I'm getting at last year which suite is this idea of undertaking the logic of these TD showings and author's public screens and inserting myself into it, and thereby making works from their in certain to system. Because of course the back particular system were particular platform of its own logic end its own kind of discourse which will contribute backing in order to make something, which obviously must comment on that bus system just by being placed in relation to.

I'm deleting comments as well about some will find a very empowering, and confounded exploitative which is actually more how I expected it to be perceived, that I was exploiting the young girl who just want the famous than other people saw it as actually an opportunity to vent their represent themselves, without any direction and to do can create their own image and whether they would like.

Of course this is probably a little bit too well the idealistic sense they're not recreating themselves so much as many creating an image of what it what is expected of all will be a good personality of this idea of cobranded personalities of all fact is that stand out, but that many of these girls are tapping into anything other than I'm asking you could.

no. 11 (many true, many love, many packs)

I have to try and record some of this stuff I've been thinking and writing about because the past couple days. Basically the 20th, maybe it is idea each is what are the political elements of language. How a language political and how can be used in a way that makes it her onion your.

So if you quote to start with just over my mind keeps moving and only her daughter- well in 1984 on the edge of Newspeak words like many true, many love, many packs. What is loosely do it attenuate language reduces itreducing D amount of words available in order to be able to speech clearly if you, if the means of expression or articulation are diminished then are so inevitably is thought in particular odds- in this case dissenting thought will stop newspaper that a satire on the basic.

Reading the power article on great, she argues that it is now the opposite. The institution are often house by again so one can say is that the using that this type of institutional, managerial language without Newspeak, that can the friend someone and she also picked out is currently a difference in turn causes likely sky thinking and so on you is basically colour that ate the use of this kind of language office gates other social realities in particular are so sure problems which have not been solved.

She also shows a link between this current flurry of language I am bound to new labours coinages for political projects such as the creative industries, regeneration and argues that there is this current talk self-congratulation which Lucille's unsolvable social problems, such as quality, housing, how. So thing then is this idea of language both concealing and revealing would you keep you keep coming back to the past day.

In this case is language as I concealment for other social realities and pants and run parallel here with something I read in that other, where be looked at, which is this think that, under instead "matter of matter rather than matter as symbol is a conscious political position" would mean by this life is needed not using language is propaganda which is the weather is generally used in advertising and media unli - I'm not using it by wr wcon.

So there you go political parallels in language and abusive language and just a couple of other things all yes and then back to the other from our newsfeed, this idea of linguistics for which Iraqis clear thinking enough then by Robert Smith's own "discussing the traumas is apt to become a container a radical metaphor".

Ashley down so that means. Does it mean that by using words literally and without their connotations to the world of media images and propaganda, I shared it of it those associations- that a radical move question mark as radical as it denies or moves away from the world all Finnish computer mediated language? Sure its run on. And is finally is the good point that she make. This. I tha I come back to de a.

no. 10 (the UN is famous)

So today thinking about my film would be on screen.com and about the people that got back to me, and what it is exactly the expect to get out of this? Wondering if it is exploitative relationship as it am I taking advantage of them? Probably since what they are they really going to get out of this wall or what is it that they think that they're going to get.
While a few of them are actually said I want to be famous with the OTB I can see myself on the cover of hello, all things which are to do is being famous. And others see it as a chance to practice something they want to to do so look like acting, no-nonsense yes and taking advantage of their desire to present themselves as somebody who's done something beyond just be anonymous.

And then it has been reading about this idea of branded cells and as reality TV group, whose participants are image entrepreneurs working to produce branded versions of themselves but also on a linguist to TV who read financial gain from the load cost of production. The same could be said to me using these people that it lowers the cost of having to pay tractors, and and they are they are informed by and inspired by the whole discourse of reality TV and the idea of branding yourself, all of being all creating a public persona. It's interesting that they will seem to have understood if I'm well, they don't let none of them have found the concept of the other scripts confusing, quite a few of them actually said I want a great script and then I can relate to. The centre that generation completely understands the fame game, but want to be a part of it, and then made me think of this deserves this, and that somebody from a use marketing group said "everybody's got something and that something needs virtual representation".

So in a way these girls getting back to me are kind of playing along with our idea to May pay for something to get them that they need to be expressed in the region, it needs to be seen by others and wholesale terms of its creation of public persona is so this idea that the brand itself as a product of an era of flexible personality, and it's a form of outer directed self presentation.

Anaheim are quite interesting idea this that the construction of self which is outward looking, anticipates what other people will think will think of you, and how they will fit you into the context of culture. I suppose I'm playing out by the fact that the atheists insist story about girls really, and the narrative does reflect the whole narrative of reality TV programs in the sense that going through various things there is trial tribulations, except it doesn't end on a kind of positive note, it is slightly more ambiguously unlike the idea that in reality TV programs you would create their brand itself which will then go and which has value.

And at the end of this idea that the public persona is itself a commodity which can be detached and alienated from the body to produce it, for example think about death celebrities still making money from beyond the grave with the video needs to be alive, that one government while the value of the persona doesn't depend on them actually being fair in bodily form.
So it's completely immaterial in that sense it's just them is just a brand protest at plans to add this ultimate image commodity fetish object. So many people want to turn themselves into grounds that include celebrities something that is something that is recognised and seem to have cultural meaning. And another thing is that interesting how many of the applicants fulfil that kind can play of the flexible work with the new type of personality that is needed in in a world of constant innovation and flexibility and adaptability, which is the current capitalist climate. The example many of them are dancers, actresses, models, whatever the day they are they got this right skill set, which which readies them further strain.

And another thing which is mentioned is this idea that the UN is famous as an indicator of personal ability, but that the medical aspects of this Cardiff's self branding particularly through reality TV is is that the girl is not dependent on a particular skill set.
So it's more to do with the packaging of the self rather than whatever skills you happen to how and it's more about what it does than what it says. Which takes about a recurrence of his idea of this is that the way he delivered the speech is what's going to convince people not necessarily what she said in an organised part of it. So in the same way that particular skill set that is needed just the ability to position yourself and to our ascent of promotion about oneself and about construction of oneself.

So those we are identities is just a performance which fits in best with the market discourse of the day. And Warren Sussman and fair procedures at some production reflect on an economic and cultural interests, "changing culture do mean changes in modal types of character" and this suggestion that in the 19th century was about character in the 20 centuries it was about personality and our 21st century possibly it's about flexible personality, in here affects the labour and accumulation. In this little personality is always active, willing to innovate, ready to shift personal affiliations if needed to get further, I need to succeed.

no. 9 (taxation as communication)

So thing about presentation and there was also last week thinking about nothing but me, alone in the peace and do a song that I would. So anyway back to translation, planning what I have to do is going to be looking at translating practice as meeting made Manhattan current quote political practices.
We are framing seminars and discussions will take place around translated politics as a leading traffic across languages and poetic histories, off most poetic performance that locate poetic activity like space, exchange included with textual modalities.
And offering deposit and relational however goes out and about in thinking that informs and seeks articulate broader modes of cultural and ethical engagements.

So what can't find them in the freezer and here, the ideas of taxation as communication and therefore as their bridges between communities between languages, or between languages and their communities.
And this affirmation had the lot of implications are so, what was it I was missing in with Nina Powers? This idea that language doesn't make sense and nonsense communicating a direct translation? Is this mania relates to fear factor that suggests other in a sense of community level of understanding, so that it is evident that people are communicating when in fact people are just talking and not the stone being understood.

So enough that it's not a translation in terms across languages and it's actually just in terms of being understood. So in terms of politics I just tested out and wonder the new one of the songs off my shoes are transcribed using a Mac speech to take and then earn better tested reading a house at the video, and thinking that something I could do as a part of a block those taking it to the next level.

What's the matter was thought about that? I don't know maybe it's so unlike or enjoy insulting language lyrics, the intake using her face value as is usually the news that really is the computers in the translation in the first instance, today by performing it in the flesh of the waterway and use the pauses in time my son that is taken into another another meeting time were actually live performance.

So does have a full while doing my daily drawings is this idea of what is and is likely on getting a with what I'm doing is decent examination of what kind of madness at the Madison Society. Once must think it was that kind of expresses the individual acting out all all reacting certain behaviours which all is bizarre because they're not and they don't even within the Walls, incidentally makes you think that all who would make the normal rules- example why the normal tab and TVs playing everywhere in her electronic shop or facing out onto the highlight; why one in which we didn't become a thing that is little. So then my acting is always doing something which it would be considered mad new Astros Mrs Cornwall, as comics do, you point to what 'matter' in society, which is the fact that the things are just arbitrary. If the arbitrariness they activate all that they have random things which are things that we take for granted like megastores on the edge of town, like each other in a certain way, like certain products and figures of speech which assume we don't notice them. If that was both the 13th things are so and so there and so normal that you don't notice that if it could be some complete the other way. And I'm beginning to think of my interest in the cliches of this thing which is the that connects people because of something that they can all agree on. They haven't chosen to agree on it, it's just that that is a standard that everybody can can use so young blondes at arm, certain turns of phrase, certain genres, all of these things are all kind of symbols, shorthand is or maybe they just ways of knowing that the other person will be able to understand you. Back everything I think about this idea of handing over some less understanding. That Language, it allows us to communicate with other people and deliver their own standards. But still how I do know that they actually do understand is that communication is happening it. So I was thinking the incentive with some of some of the work I make that there is a sense that am I being understood? Am I communicating? Just because I'm using language just because words are being put into sentences and being spoken do they actually make sense? And by making a fierce wolf by enacting that the kind of be with the difficulties of commune of communicating by using the very obvious breakdown of communication, as posting them here the metanarrative is what is nowadays anyway and we actually cross from one to another and they were communicating. Which is again why little I think you mean the power languages need to make sense long as it's communicating. That kind of makes little sense to me now.

Just all the little bit about tarot card and only see that as a Shakespearean concept as well but are also according to the tarot site "innocent, whimsical, the inner child makes to the inner sage leaves down deep inside us all. He faces life in his journey am afraid trusting, that every experience with the essential meaning. Blah blah blah sometimes I was the most worthless, yet also is most valuable. The full reminders of things, but we have forgotten or repressed the foremost to his or her ignorance, thus is seen as the most wise".

Any kind of parallels there with the artist in society?

no. 8 (Icky icky ideological)

I've just found this wonderful positive affirmation sites we can download free MP3 am about weight loss, depression, anger is brilliant wave music conveys this kind of sentimentality or a mixture of accepting that things are shaped at the same time this kind of slight hopefulness.
It's a strange combination kind of depressing. So instead of the list I collected I'm now thinking about putting those voices convince a variety of voices, alongside with the pictures of the stock photography.

I thought about something when I got into the studio today which was a sometimes I get obsessed with this idea that I have to come to a solution or to a conclusion. And that is part of the problem because, thinking about stuff is great like the example the wire, what's so great about it is it doesn't offer any answers. There is no solution in its forthcoming even when such crimes all situations are solved, there is no solution. It made me think about that are supposed to traditional detective stories all crime dramas, in which things get solved, and then when I'm in that there is a sense of closure.

So we're entitled why doesn't it doesn't offer you any sense of closure the ship is still happening, the problems are still there. So I just thought about that in terms of my work when you're over thinking things sometimes, that he then start thinking as if you have to come up with a solution before you make something, or you're thinking about stuff like what if I don't like this it could mean this, if I don't like that could mean that and then in the end because you can never really be sure in advance what is going to make and what it's going to mean you just end up getting confused.

So am I excited now I found these and positive affirmations are downloaded quite a few of them are moderate Dems have just put them with tea and stock photography. Yes it's obvious I mean the two contrast each other or or rather it's just perhaps it's just straightforwardly ironic. But then maybe that's house is going to be. Just images of happiness images of success, images of romance, friendship, safety, security or other things are considered important in our society. Icky icky ideological want to call it standards may be the ideological standard.

And then I spent all of these affirmations of these things are kind of there both point to the fact that a lack in people's lives which makes them need that, but also the fact that the back so desired and decided that if you could just be positive you can improve yourself and successful follow and happiness will follow and that is the kind of happiness that is depicted in this type of stock photography.

I also thought about doing that as something that I would have the support cast and then listen to and tend to go and kind of appealing to myself while Lionel beds in places that sell bets, now I'm thinking perhaps to do it as a analysts like a not positive affirmation ones lark sperm hypnotism will falling asleep once so then i been attempts to fall asleep in public while filming yourself with and without being interrupted. And at a final quote from for my sketchbook something a bit sad a bit mad and a bit dumb.

no.7 (go and have a nice demolish)

So more about the regard of debate -- interesting that it's coming back into prominence. So go and have a nice demolish the idea of physical Agora public space. There is a kind of art that takes public as its subject without necessarily exposing yourself to the weather. It is somewhere where I put some of my ideas -- public, but which public? Especially in the light of the means of dissemination -- he rightly points out that the media has always been a public. In work which purposely caused controversy, the media not only disseminates balsa performs work.

And other coming completely intertwined with the media and TV, is that not truly public -- since that is the shared portal to a space activities are discussed and debated. E.g. Dan Graham buying space in the specialist publication -- but by courting the tabloids which is the mass media to reach is much wider. So the thing about public event to discuss an activity not set spaces.
Which is what I was trying to get out with when I was thinking about the public screens are not public just because they're in a public space what is it that they doing most of the time just advertising things.
But also events or discussion places which uphold the status quo -- do they actually add anything to the wider debate? Something I actually do need to tackle in my compression pieces -- again ways of averaging ways of summarising to an objective process. And the ones in particular are the archive that is growing at a steady pace of artist talks and critics talks and overcoming a kind of working themselves but the latter artwork because there is work about work only be seen to make that metalwork back into the work.

So when something enters the mass media it becomes public -- as in newspapers or studio think it's worth following. Antagonisms perhaps replacing dialogue is the grand public art -- at least it's better buying more involved with and in touch with the actual communities intense effect will be entitled to. Public sphere is accessible to discursive run or one riven with inequality in conflict? By the transient public art seems to be the way forward -- at least people are not stuck with it, so even if there is disagreement is not long-term. Which is kind of what I was suggesting with public screens -- being a type of public video arts if there developed in that way -- by having the added bonus of being intrinsically changeable. Mark Wilsher says "it is unchallenging sin needs to be in order to be granted permanent by the Gardens of traditional culture" to which I would add -- it has to appeal to the board of public -- the average man.

So what is the public must? One that looks at how people interact in public and in public places. One explores how things are disseminated beyond the artist -- these are gay cock that get passed on through public channels such as the media and the Internet. One that draws on the public as participants, but not necessarily in a dialogic relationship -- when the and the am thinking about this the onscreen -- it's a way of accessing the public with our selection, without them having a choice in the script so they're participating without really having any input. And it's tautological since the participants are drawn from the very sphere which feeds into reality TV titles of the script.
Then with searching, these are also public in the sense of where they originated -- but if they display phones. You have to consider if they put an electronics store -- then they fit in what far more? Or estate agent? It's something I need to explore further from doing it the other day that praying that he be like that small one into something like Sainsbury's then it doesn't fit in, it obviously doesn't fit in and yet people still ignoring.

Another thing I thought was that maybe if it was talking them with those of voice that will draw people in more because that's that's more unusual in a public place or in a supermarket. Or maybe the whole point is that it takes publicness as its subject doesn't actually need to then go into the public can stand alone as something that is created by the public, in terms of their the public being the Internet all again the average input into the Internet being a sort of public. Does it actually need to enter into the public sphere as being new to go over as in a public place or space for differences in May. Could it not be a book or something.
